چکیده

This paper makes an attempt to develop least squares lattice algorithms for the ARMA modeling of a linear, slowly time-varying, multichannel system employing scalar computations only. Using an equivalent scalar, periodic ARMA model and a circular delay operator, the signal set for each channel is defined in terms of circularly delayed input and output vectors corresponding to that channel. The orthogonal projection of each current output vector on the subspace spanned by the corresponding signal set is then computed in a manner that allows independent AR and MA order recursions. The resulting lattice algorithm can be implemented in a parallel architecture employing one processor per channel with the data flowing amongst them in a circular manner. The evaluation of the ARMA parameters from the lattice coefficients follows the usual step-up algorithmic approach but requires, in addition, the circulation of certain variables across the processors since the signal sets become linearly dependent beyond certain stages. The proposed algorithm can also be used to estimate a process from two correlated, multichannel processes adaptively allowing the filter orders for both the processes to be chosen independently of each other. This feature is further exploited for ARMA modeling a given multichannel time series with unknown, white input

Multichannel Adaptive Least Squares Lattice Filters for Active Noise Control

In this paper a new algorithm for multi-channel adaptive least squares adaptive filtering, using a lattice filter is proposed. The algorithm is a multi-channel numerically stable version of the adaptive least squares lattice with a priori errors and error feedback. It is adapted to active noise control using the modified filtered-Error algorithm. It is shown throw computer simulations that the ...

In this paper a highly modular adaptive lattice algorithm for multichannel least squares FIR filtering and multivariable system identification is presented. Multichannel filters with different number of delay elements per input channel are allowed. The main features of the proposed multichannel adaptive lattice least squares algorithm is the use of scalar only operations, multiplications/divisi...

External and Internal Incompressible Viscous Flows Computation using Taylor Series Expansion and Least Square based Lattice Boltzmann Method

The lattice Boltzmann method (LBM) has recently become an alternative and promising computational fluid dynamics approach for simulating complex fluid flows. Despite its enormous success in many practical applications, the standard LBM is restricted to the lattice uniformity in the physical space. This is the main drawback of the standard LBM for flow problems with complex geometry. Several app...

A new least-squares approach to differintegration modeling

In this paper a new least-squares (LS) approach is used to model the discrete-time fractional differintegrator. This approach is based on a mismatch error between the required response and the one obtained by the difference equation defining the auto-regressive, moving-average (ARMA) model. In minimizing the error power we obtain a set of suitable normal equations that allow us to obtain the AR...

Multichannel data: separating independent causes

The algorithm for blind deconvolution of a nonstationary time series of vector components (i.e. multichannel) has three stages: (1) Linear-least-squares multichannel prediction-error filtering, (2) Cholesky factorization of the zero-lag covariance matrix, and (3) Rotation angle scanning for maximum sparsity.
